Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
My name is Kristopher Cooper, and I am the standing President of the Mu Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. I would like to extend my welcome on behalf of my chapter and my fraternity as a whole. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on January 5, 1911 on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Our chapter, Mu Upsilon, was chartered by 11 men on November 18, 1983 here at Appalachian State University. The astute men that founded our organization had the ideas to promote a healthy and social atmosphere both in the community as well as on campus. Most importantly, those men wanted to encourage honorable achievement in every field of human endeavor.
As for me, I am from Greensboro, North Carolina and I am currently a junior, Mathematics major with a minor in General Business (GB). With that degree, I hope to enter into the field of finance after I graduate. I am currently involved in a few other organizations such as the Mathematics Club, National Residence Hall Honorary, and I am the current Parliamentarian for the National Pan-Hellenic Council.
My vision for Mu Upsilon is to stay consistent with the ideals and values our founders had for our organization. I want to continue to be a beacon in the community through our achievement and strong leadership. I also want the chapter to continue to grow and bring in men who understand what being a good Greek really means, whether that be doing service or any other endeaveor to aid the community in a positivie aspect.
